My Story

I’m Jess Kirby, a multidisciplinary artist passionate about creating immersive experiences that push the boundaries of traditional art. My work blends acrylic painting, digital design, and animation to craft vibrant, surreal worlds that explore themes of vision and connection.

With a foundation in fine art and a background in animation from Florida State University’s College of Motion Picture Arts, my journey has taken me from creating on canvases to designing for major brands. I currently work as a lead designer for Etam US. However, most of my time and energy is dedicated to expanding my craft and transforming the traditional gallery experience.

My goal is to offer more than just visual art. I aim to create interactive journeys that engage all of the senses, inviting viewers to step into the worlds that I imagine. Beyond my own work, I’m passionate about building a platform and community for unconventional artists who don’t always find a home in traditional spaces.

Artist Statement

My work explores subconscious narratives inspired by my own dreams. Through vibrant, surreal landscapes, each piece reflects a journey into the mind. Recurring elements like clouds and celestial beings convey themes of healing, transformation, and self-discovery. In many instances, these paintings also serve as manifestations of my personal healing journey. By creating these vivid mindscapes, I aim to capture light within darkness and express resilience through my art. My goal is to invite viewers into these mental spaces, encouraging them to reflect on their own internal journeys and find solace in the beauty of the surreal.
